Imagine watching a black bear teach its cub to climb a tree. Or a long horned sheep scaling what appears to be a rock wall. Glacier National Park and Waterton National Park have so much to offer. I was amazed at how beautiful they are.
🦌 Wildlife Encountered
Wildlife viewing was a major highlight of the Waterton Lakes portion of this journey. Moose were observed browsing in dense vegetation, offering excellent close views of one of the region’s most iconic large mammals. Multiple black bear sightings included both adults and cubs moving through forest clearings and grassy meadows, providing memorable observations of natural behavior in a healthy ecosystem. Bighorn sheep were frequently encountered on wooded hillsides and open slopes, including several close views of mature rams and small groups moving through forest habitat. These diverse wildlife encounters complemented the dramatic mountain landscapes shared by Waterton Lakes National Park and neighboring Glacier National Park.
